Erika LaPoint, Founder
Growing up in Olympic Valley, Showroom 360 owner Erika LaPoint always knew she would make the Tahoe Basin her forever home.
In her words:
My dad immigrated from Austria and married my New York socialite mom, so our house had a unique feel to it - a rugged Austrian chalet, mixed with urban elegance. By day, my dad was a ski instructor. By night he worked at Mountain Forge in Truckee, the custom ironwork business he owned and operated. I have many memories of accompanying him on installs at beautiful homes around the lake.
After years of working in the fashion industry, I started my own business at Showroom 360. Fashion is fast-paced and constantly changing. In recent years, home style trends have changed increasingly quickly. The fashion industry made me a pro at going to the market often to find new cool lines and pieces. My daughter goes with me now and we don’t miss a showroom, ever.
As an interior designer, I always tell my clients to go with what they love, because trends will come and go. You want your house to look and feel aesthetically beautiful, but you also want to feel like it is uniquely YOURS. It is important to use the space you’ve designed to create lasting memories.
Whether you are building from the ground up, remodeling, or even just want a quick fix update, we love doing it all. It can be overwhelming, so I encourage my clients to do projects in phases, especially when they want to enjoy their time up here at the same time. Do what is feasible to start, and then go from there!
We have been very fortunate with a steady flow of business stemming from word of mouth and referrals from so many amazing people in our community. I am a big believer in supporting each other, and in making each client project fun (we even include having fun as part of our client contracts). After all, we are so blessed to be able to live and play every day in beautiful Lake Tahoe.
